Nayanthara's New ShyamaPrasad movie "Electra"[Monday, July 27, 2009]


Nayantara will be donning the title character in the new movie titled ‘Electra’. Scripted and directed by Shyamaprasad, the movie will also feature Tamil actor Arya as the hero.

This will be first Malayalam film of Arya, famous for his movies like ‘Naan Kadavul’ and ‘Pattiyal’, who by birth is a Malayalee. Produced by Vindhayan in the banner of Rasika entertainments the movie will have Nayantara playing the title character Electra Alexander. The movie will kick off its shoot by the end of November.

Meanwhile Shyamaprasad is getting ready with his new release ‘Rithu’ which features a bunch of youngsters.

RAJAN P DEV PASSES AWAY{July 30th,Thursday}


Versatile Malayalam actor “Rajan P Dev” died on 29th of July, 2009 in Kochi, India. He was 58-year-old at the time of his death. He has done over 150 movies in which he played the roles as villain, Comedian and character Artist, during his career of 30 years. Rajan P Dev has been taking the treatment for liver disease for many years. Recently, he had a problem of Hematemesis (vomiting blood) so he was admitted to “Lakeshore Hospital” he was living with his son “Jibile Raj”, daughter “Ashamma” and wife “Santha” in Kochi.

The dead-body of Rajan P Dev will be reserved for the people to present a tribute to him at “Ernakulan Town Hall”. His funeral ceremony will arrange on Thursday at “St. Xavier’s church” in Karukutti.
Rajan P Dev played his last role as “Villian” in the recent movie “Mammootty’s Ee Patanathil Bhootham”. He began his acting career as a theater artist and operated his personal drama troup. The best performance by Rajan P Dev ever was in stage play “Kattu Kuthira” as “Kochu Vava”; which led him towards film offers.
He had his own unique style as a villain and appreciated by the fans due to his punchlines and dialogue delivery. Rajan P Dev acted in over 50 movies in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu. His most recent Tamil release was the “Malayan” in which he played the role of a conservative bad guy. Rajan sketched the typical dishonest cop in over 35 movies and was a well-respected by the fans.

Mammooty's ‘Palery Manikyam’[Friday, July 24, 2009]



Megastar Mammootty was more than happy to be at Manchery, where he had been for long doing his duties as a lawyer. The actor, who established himself as a popular advocate at Malappuram before starting his acting career, was again at his familiar den for the shooting of the new movie ‘Palery Manikyam’ ‘Oru Pathira Kolapathakathinte Kathaa’. The production crew, including the producer-director Renjith, were also happy for the rains which stood away from disturbing their proceedings, from the day the megastar joined the sets. Hundreds of people from various walks of life assembled to see their favourite star and man of the soil, who is back to Mancheri after some years.

The megastar is in a double role in this movie which is an investigation thriller. One of his roles is of Haridas, a Delhi-based private detective who mets with a renewed interest about a murder that happened 50 years ago. He decides to reinvestigate it; with the help of Sarayu Sharma (played by Gowri) a criminologist who assists him.

The movie produced by Varnachithra big Screen and AVA Productions, will reach the theatres by the mid of November.

Kavya ready for a come back after Gopika??? [Friday, July 24, 2009]


Following the likes of Gopika, who is on a comeback trail after leaving the movie field with her marriage, another popular actress is also likely to be back in business in a shortwhile. What we are talking on is about Kavya who is in the eye of the storm with back to back reports leaking about the trauma that she is facing after her marriage with a Kuwait based techie, five months ago.

According to insiders information, Kavya is being approached for many new filmi projects including the latest Mammootty starrer to be directed by hitmaker Shafi. Given the possibilities of her leaving her kuwait husband and now, returning to stay with her parents at Kochy, chances are that the actress will give a favorable nod to new producers, to resume her acting career.

Kavya’s parents had confirmed some kind of troubles in her married life following strict controls imposed on her life by her husband and his family. But they also add that efforts are on to avoid a breakup. More over the parents of the actress are also agitated for a section of media portraying her as weak enough to attempt a suicide. Dismissing all such reports as manipulated, they also add that Kavya has returned to Kerala as she was not able to bear the persecutions there. ''She has not approached the court seeking divorce. There is still time for that, and it has certain procedures'' says Kavya's father who is now left alone at her house at Kochy to answer to calls from her thousand of fans and to media queries.

Kavya, a youth festival winner of the late nineties had been in the films, from the age of five. For the last seven years, she was undoubtedly the numero uno heroine in Mollywood, with a safe ''girl next door image'' and maximum number of fans.

‘Pattanathil Bhootham’ makes a good start{Thursday,July 16, 2009}


Mammootty's latest movie ‘Ee Pattanathil Bhootham’ has made a flying start at in almost all the centres in Kerala.

The weekend shows were almost full in every centres. As the big fans of the star has already completed their first viewing, the makers will market the movie more as a children and family genre from the week two, which will make sure the at the movie will survive with its initials for at least another two weeks. And the movie is expected to bring its capital amounts spend on it in another three weeks, if the movie survive with this collections.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohanlal [July 9, 2009, 10:13:28]


alayalam superstar Mohanlal has officially joined the civilians' voluntary army force Territorial Army (TA) on Thursday. At a ceremony at the Delhi Army headquarters, Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor conferred Mohanlal with the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel of the Territorial Army. Mohanlal will be part of the 122 Infantry Battalion of Kannur Terriers.

“It is truly a proud moment for me to have been granted an honorary rank during the diamond jubilee year of the Territorial Army. I will try to serve to the best of my ability in my newly assigned role. It is a dream come true that I can now serve shoulder-to-shoulder with our officers and men,” four-time National Award winner Mohanlal said after the ceremony.

“Mohanlal will be yet another brand ambassador of the Territorial Army. His achievements are an example of his discipline, dedication and hard work which is synonymous to the army way of life,” a senior Indian Army official said.

“His passion for the army is amply evident from his outstanding and realistic portrayal of the penultimate, fearless and duty-bound army officer on the silver screen, especially in movies like Kirtichakra and Kurukshetra. As part of his preparation to truly depict the role, he shared the realities of army personnel in actual conflict zones like Tiger Hill and Drass, withstanding extreme weather conditions and combat situations,” the official added.

SUPER STAR MOHANLAL'S "ANGEL JOHN" STARTED AT KOCHI[Saturday, July 11, 2009]


Super star Mohanlal's new movie ‘Angel John’ started its shoot at Kochi, a couple of days ago. Directed by ‘Speed Track’ fame Jayasuriya, the movie will feature Tamil star Shanthanu, the son of Bhagiyaraj and Poornima, as the lead character.

Young star Nithya is the heroine of this movie, which is based on a story with a little tint of fantasy. Mamtha Mohandas, Salimkumar, Jagathy Sreekumar and Ambika are also in the in the cast lines.The makers are planning to get the movies into theatres as a Ramzan release.
